Museum of Liverpool wedding image

Wedding photo of the Clumpus, Finestone & Bennet families, ca1900, which comes from the Merseyside Jewish Community Archive, part of the Liverpool Record Office. Liverpool was the first organised Jewish community in the north of England, and until the mid-19th century it was the largest provincial Jewish community. The archive contains community records dating back to 1722. We’re excited to showcase lesser-known but very significant regional archives that tell rich stories about Jewish life outside London.
